Varun Dhawan To Star In 1971 Indo-Pak War Martyr Arun Khetarpal’s Biopic
Bollywood has a gehra sambandh with remakes and biopics. Every year we either see remakes of some classics and regional films or biopic of some legendary personalities. Speaking of Biopic, gear up, people because another biopic is in the making and this time it is about Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal who was martyred during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. This biopic will be directed by Andhadhun director Sriram Raghavan and it stars Coolie No. 1 actor Varun Dhawan.

Recently, Varun confirmed this news to Mumbai Mirror. He was quoted saying that he was in awe after hearing Arun’s valour. Varun adds, “Playing a soldier has always been my dream. After I heard Arun khetarpal's story I was honestly shocked that this could actually happen!  I understood why Dinoo and Sriram were so passionate about it. And after I met Aruns brother Mukesh Khetarpal I was moved, I too have a brother and I can’t fathom what he must have gone through.”

Confirming the same, just a while ago, Varun shared a picture of Arun Khetarpal on his birth anniversary. He wrote, "Happy birthday 2/lt #ARUNKHETRAPAL. It’s always been my dream to play a solider of INDIA. This is my most important film . Can’t wait to be directed by the mad genius sriram Raghavan one more time to bring to big screen the life of 2/lt #ARUNKHETARPAL. Cant wait to begin working with dino vision my producer who always has a vision but this time with emmotion. Hope to make you proud #mukeshkhetarpal and #poonahorse. JAI HIND 🇮🇳. Thank you to my fans and hope i don’t let you down."

Talking about Arun Khetarpal, he showed extreme bravery in the face of fierce and unrelenting attacks by the Pakistani military when he was just twenty-one year old. Khetarpal was also honoured with India's most-prestigious and highest-standard military medal for courage and gallantry- the Param Vir Chakra, posthumously. This is the second time where Varun and Raghavan are teaming up for a new project, after Badlapur. Knowing how a prolific director he is, we are sure this would be as amazing as his previous films.

Meanwhile, on Varun’s professional diaries, the actor will be next seen in Coolie No. 1 along with Sara Ali Khan. This film is a remake of 1995 film with the same which starrer Govinda and Karisma Kapoor. After this, Varun will also be starring in Street Dancer 3D with Shraddha Kapoor. The film is directed by Remo D’Souza.
